Two weeks ago I entered to purchase eye glasses for myself. A employee took my info and asked for my personal info in middle of sales floor for my insurance coverage. No privacy. I asked to input myself. He looked surprised but I suppose confidently is not a policy they follow at this store. (It's actually policy to NOT ask out loud but I know this from prior store I shopped at LensCrafters past three years). After three attempts, the employee couldn't verify my insurance. Another employee tried. Unsuccessful. I called my old LensCrafters (500 miles away) they verified. I was told by that employee verifying my insurance would lock me and I'd have to call my insurance company to unlock if I visited another optical store. Of course the insurance company was closed on that Saturday. I then decided to leave and shop somewhere else. I found a great different chain store which respected my privacy and treated me professionally.
