I needed to reduce the solar heat coming into a fairly large 4 x 8 window in the master bedroom facing due east. While I have beautiful (Hunter-Douglas) wooden shutters they offer no real protection against the searing summer sun here in Phoenix. The room was a good 2-4 degrees warmer the the rest of the home ALL DAY LONG!
