I had dinner at Garde-Manger to celebrate my mom's birthday while we were visiting Montreal. The ambiance is cozy and rustic with beautiful wood and stained glass details, and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. They play an awesome playlist of music that ranges from oldies to hip hop that progressively gets louder as the night gets later.
The service at Garde-Manger was phenomenal. Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable- she gave wonderful descriptions of the dishes and recommended and let us taste different wines to go with each course.
For dinner, we shared the octopus appetizer to start and the walleye and seaweed speckle entree. We finished the meal with a cherry tart with coconut ice cream- delicious! We stayed after the meal and enjoyed one of the cocktail specials- a basil and mint margarita that was out of this world.
I highly recommend dining at Garde-Manger if you are in Montreal. It is a fabulous dining experience that is worth the price- I will definitely be back next time I am in Montreal!
