I purchased a voucher from this website, $15 for $30 worth at a restaurant in my neighbourhood. When I tried to redeem this voucher after my meal, the restaurant owner informed me that Dealathons had not paid the restaurant what they owed for the voucher ($7.50 for each voucher purchased), thus they were unable to accept the voucher. I was understanding of this because it doesn't make sense for the owner to give away $30 worth of food for free. I emailed Dealathons shortly after explaining what had happened and asked for the $15 to be refunded. After 6 days without a response I emailed again asking for an update. After more than a week since I put in my initial request, I finally got a response saying they will not refund me but will give me a $20 credit for their website. Really? Why, so I can buy another voucher and end up getting screwed again? I replied saying that I insist on getting a refund as opposed to a credit because I already spent $30 more than anticipated on the meal and there was nothing right now on their website I am interested in. Instead of waiting another 10 days for a response, I am just going to call, but I have completely lost trust in this website. I can't believe that they scammed the restaurant, and then proceeded to take 10 days just to tell me that they are going to keep my money and force me to take another risk with their company. Needless to say, I will not be making any more purchases from this website when there are so many similar ones out there which I have had no issues with (i.e. Groupon, Travelzoo, etc.).
