My husband and I stayed at the beginning of the year for the first leg of an anniversary weekend staycation. From the point of valet and check in to the moment we left, the service was fantastic. When making my reservation, I mentioned that it was for our ten year anniversary and, upon entering our room, the concierge had sent us a card and a little treat. Very nice touch. We researched a bit online before our staying and joined the In Touch program. Upon arrival, we were given a $10 credit towards the mini bar as well as free WiFi for being In Touch members. Something else I loved...BOSCO!! Kimpton is super pet friendly and when we checked in, we had the hotel's dog greet us (and allow us to offer some belly rubs) in the lobby. So very cool. The hotel is new - contemporary look and great art throughout. Fun vibe. The room we had was a corner studio. Nice and big and overlooking the downtown sky line and Chase Field. The hubs really liked that. Bathroom soaking tub and shower is amazing. (and I really don't talk about bathrooms much...but this one was great.) I think the tubs only come with the upgraded rooms, though. Went to dinner at Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails and was wowed with every sip of the mixology mastered cocktails and every bite of the delicious food. I'll do a separate review for the restaurant but, suffice it to say, this place was fantastic and also mentioned "happy anniversary" without us saying a thing. (please do try the short ribs and upside down pineapple cake - ridiculously delectable) We were sad that we couldn't enjoy the pool and rooftop bar because we were there for the one weekend in like four months that it downpoured in the valley. It LOOKED really cool, though - guess we have to go back to check it out. Will definitely be checking out other Kimptons.
