There once was a time when food truck festivals were "the rage," but when some of Arizona's best restaurants unite and serve samples of some of their renown dishes, then food tasting rises to a whole other level of awesomeness!
We won VIP tickets so we had the pleasure of having an area hosted by AJs Fine Foods. The idea was to show off what they could do so they had samplings ranging from Sushi to Kobe beef sliders cooked to perfection. They were letting people sip various wines as well so that they'd have an idea of what to get when they actually do go to AJs. I would definitely consider them when thinking of someplace to cater for a party.
Tito's Vodka among many other distilleries, breweries and even wineries were there to
keep everyone "hydrated" while having all the food samples!
Some of my favorite restaurants were Kai from
Wild Horse Pass Casino, Quiessence/The Farm at South Mountain, Crujente tacos, Bourbon and Bones.... ugh there's too many to list. Even Sweet Republic was there to fulfill any dessert cravings afterwards.
There was a local organic grocery that was handing out unique tropical fruits so they let us take a tote bag (that condenses into a mini carrot when folded) to hold all our fruits. My favorite was the Calamansi fruit - a cross between a lemon and lime, as well as the mini pineapples. The grocer said that even the core of mini pineapples were edible so we ate them and they were the sweetest pineapples I've ever eaten!
Martha Stewart did make an appearance on Saturday but since we went Sunday, we missed seeing her. We really didn't mind though because we had so much fun regardless. LaCroix's Tent was definitely the funnest area. They had groups dancing and throwing confetti in the air while taking photos and slow motion video. They made mocktails with LaCroix but they were awesome even without the alcohol.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to be able
to attend this experience! I'd definitely recommend it to everyone!
