I drove past this place and decided to stop in and give it a try. The menu is basically wings, chicken strips, or larger portions by the piece. I decided on the 3-piece chicken strip meal and added a side of cole slaw. The strips were HUGE! The meal included a mound of straw-thin fries and a soda. The small side of slaw was much larger than I expected. Portion size would earn 5 stars! The cole slaw was decent. Not great, but better than many I've tried at other chicken joints. I prefer a creamy, sweet slaw. This was a bit runny with a little too much pepper for my taste. But again, not bad. 3 stars for the slaw. I really enjoyed the fries, but they are almost too thin. 4 stars Now for the chicken strips...HUGE size! Unfortunately, they don't have any flavor really. The breading could be great with some spices thrown in, but as it is, it's just a crunchy coating of blandness. 2.5 stars Considering that chicken is the main attraction here, I can't bring myself to give more than 3 stars for the entire meal. Apparently, the Chicken Shack is under new management. I might give it a month or so and try it again.
