Update to your response - You did not identify yourself in your response. If you were not there, how do you properly answer to bad Yelp reviews? Thank you for a general Yelp response. I did not say "this is unfair", nor did I argue, I stated facts that your insurance staff member did not like because I didn't roll over or let her or your staff bully me into paying $600 for nothing. I know exactly how my insurance works hence the reason you were not able to scam me out of $600 (left by many other reviewers). There is no such thing as a surprise bill when you know how your insurance works and how you should be billed. Also I don't think you know the definition of courtesy. Courtesy would be telling patients up front when you first collect their insurance information over the phone that you don't plan to go through insurance before they drive all the way down to visit your office for help and waste their time/gas and time off work. There are a lot of bad reviews on your page stating the same thing, which verifies this is common for your office. BEWARE!! I hope this place goes out of business! I have never been treated so rude in my life. I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before wasting my time. My dentist referred me to this doctor because I am having a lot of jaw pain. Their office is far from my house and took me over an hour to get to my appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, I was checked in, my insurance info was taken (for the 2nd time) and I was asked to wait. I was then taken back to a consultation room instead of being looked at by a nurse or doctor. I first had to meet with the insurance staff member. She went over my insurance plan and told me I owed them over $600 before I even saw a doctor or was diagnosed with anything. They wanted $600 up front. The way my insurance works is I am supposed to be billed through insurance, they pay their portion then I pay what is left. This is how it always has been and has worked with any doctor I have seen. This doctor was in-network and was covered by my insurance. Why are they asking for $600 up front?! RED FLAG! I told her I would talk to my insurance and my HR rep and give me a minute. I found out that I was correct and what they were asking for was a SHAM! I confronted the lady and told her, she said "well we have people like you who don't pay their bills, so we collect upfront." Looking at me, insinuating I do not pay my bills? How insulting! I'm sorry do I look like I don't pay my bills or something? She was extremely rude, I told her never mind and I will find another doctor, told them thank you for wasting my time and gas and walked out. Confused and angry as I walked to my car that they wouldn't even see me because I evidently look too poor for them to treat and they assumed I wouldn't pay my bill. If this is standard for your practice and you collect payment up front for no reason, you should tell your customers that so they don't waste their time. I even gave my insurance info days before my appointment, why wouldn't you have told me that over the phone? They don't tell you because they want you to come down, corner you and try to make you pay out of pocket before you even know what is wrong with you! SO SHADY! After reading other reviews on here I can see this is a common for this office. They try to bully you into paying money you don't need to pay. Always remember you are free to walk out!
