Came here right on opening day to see whatall the hype was about. In all honesty, I was quite disappointed when i arrived. Saks Fifth Ave was nothing more than an extension of The Room or the luxury womens fashion department of Hudsons Bay. It just seemed like they extended the floor of which The Room was located and gave it a new name. It was really quiet throughout Saks as I assume most were just not as excited as I was to check this place out. Had one not known today was opening day or have been informed about Saks' existence in downtown Toronto, i do not think one will recognize they have stepped into Saks' territory. Overall, i was a bit upset at the scene at Saks on opening day. I was hoping there would be a bigger celebration or greater livelihood. The place consisted mostly of blinding television cameras with the crew and reporters and Saks reps trying to get you to sign up for a Saks credit card. Im sure i will go back in the near future. Hopefully there will be more excitement next time around.
