Hubby and I ... love .. Filipino food. I grew up eating it back home on Guam...my friends shared what they brought from home, etc. So we make it a priority to have some almost every time we're out here in Vegas. This time around, we had a couple Filipino friends with us who were more than happy to get some "food" with us since they live in the Pacific Northwest.
We settled on Nanay because of good ratings, it's AYCE and well-priced. For the most part, it was very much worth it. The offerings were very broad (though, to be fair, there were a few dishes that got old because of low turnover).
Standouts: kare kare, miswa, bihon, sisig and dinuguan. Pinakbet was good too but I added more bagoong to it. I have to say - I'm glad it was AYCE because I (and my companions as well) destroyed the kare kare. They probably saw a big dip in their kare kare stash when we were there.
They had an obligatory fruit section - I only ate the grapes, came across some mushy ones.
The wide variety was definitely a plus. We didn't really encounter any service other than the stoic old man who sits near the restrooms and comes by to collect your tray every once in a while.
I can definitely see us coming back at some point. Yum!
