I used to frequent Sprinkles' Palo Alto location in California, so I had a Red Velvet itch to scratch. No one does a Red Velvet with Cream Cheese frosting like Sprinkles. Came in one night to grab a Red Velvet & Salted Caramel. I got my cupcakes and was in and out of there with a quickness, good thing to because I beat the rush of standing in a 5 person line. The Salted Caramel was good in caramel flavor and a hint of salt from the garnished sea salt. Not too sweet, which is surprising from Sprinkles- as they usually are ... though I'm not complaining. Definitely feeling indifferent, is it time that I've moved on from their signature Red Velvet? Ate the Red Velvet the next day, nope! Feelings of Red Velvet having a piece of my heart are the same. Rich, decadent, moist and with that delicious cream cheese frosting. Absolutely perfect, especially paired with milk or a hot coffee. Price point seems a bit extreme for a cupcake, but quality, the name, look and for health reasons- is reasonable. Haha! Any cheaper and I'd be camped out here all day and frequenting their cupcake machine out front. Also, two words: cupcake ATM - now that's some dangerous technology right there! There's a table inside and a bench outside next to the ATM machine if you want to linger about.
