It's Vegas, so why not have a shot glass full of frosting for $1? Love the decor here at Retro Bakery! The employees even dress in a retro rockabilly style. Love the cute yellow retro fridge located behind the cash register which I'm told contains employee lunches. I romanticized that the fridge contained something cooler in there, like an old fashioned jello mold waiting to set. I'm going to imagine that the employee lunches consists of retro items, like deviled eggs. The #1 selling cupcake at Retro Bakery is the Hopscotch. The vanilla buttercream frosting is dipped in butterscotch and all that yumminess sits atop a simple vanilla cupcake. The texture of the hopscotch reminds me of a Dairy Queen dipped cone. It has that chewy toothsome bite reminiscent of a freshly dipped cone. The plain vanilla cupcake is subtly moist. The vanilla buttercream frosting on it's own, has a bit of a grainy sugar crystal texture, but strangely, it's still not too sweet.
