My wife and I were just looking for a place near the airport to sleep and then fly out in the morning. I chose Howard Johnson thinking it would be a step up from a Motel 6 or a no-name local motel. Wow, was I wrong. We arrived after dark and just walking across the parking lot was scary! Lots of people just hanging out and several homeless people in the dirt lot directly adjacent. The room was worn out and we didn't even take our socks off for fear of catching something on the nasty carpet. Had it not been so late at night we would've driven to Henderson and gotten a place away from the strip. No way we would ever stay here again. Absolutely no way!
Also, they require a $100 security deposit to cover any possible damages or thefts. I was nervous about that because the room was so bad how would they know if I did any damage or if it was already like that. Thankfully I was not charged.
One word to describe this place...creepy!
