Why did I buy here?
All the signs pointed to STAY AWAY. Several low-star reviews from reputable Yelpers should have been my first clue. A mention of how terrible Blackfoot Motosports is in a private message on Yelp was my second warning. The brutal parking (a heartfelt "thank you" to the motorbikes parking in cager spots when there was plenty of motorcycle parking available) forced me to park at the car dealership to the west, as the only exit forced me to turn right (I couldn't turn back and park on the east or south side of the building). And yet, here I was, attracted by the $100 savings offered by Blackfoot over other places in the city.
I got decent service on the phone, though they flat out refused a test drive of the bike even though I scheduled one through the Kawasaki Canada website. (So what exactly is the point of that "Book a test ride" in the bottom-left corner of the Kawi website?)
I went into the store on Thursday and got the world-renowned service Blackfoot Motosports is known for. I walked by the sales desk three times and just got looked at by three staff members who were talking to each other. I finally went to the accessories cashier and asked for help. He brought me to the three chatting staff members and said Jay (Jerry?) would help me. Jay looked at him, looked at me, motioned "just a minute," and continued talking to the other staff members. Seriously? Is this the way you treat customers?
He looked up the bike in his computer and said there's one left (of course there is). He then asked if anyone was already helping me. I said I talked to Tyler on the phone. He said, "okay, Tyler can continue to help you, then." After paging Tyler to come help me, he quickly showed me the built version of the bike I wanted, telling me how important the crash guards would be. He treated it as if this was the bike I would be getting and that they would be included (I later found out this was not the case).
Tyler came and got me started with the paperwork. Of my entire experience with Blackfoot staff, he was the nicest. I eventually got to Financing and spoke to a nice woman named TJ who said she would put through the application and get back to me later that day.
The rest of Thursday came and went. I finally heard on Friday--when *I* called *them*--that I would be getting a ridiculous financing rate. Kawasaki offers 3.9% on their website, and I knew I wouldn't get that rate, but I expected something close. I was told by TJ that they either offer the Kawasaki financing rate or the rebate program, and that Tyler had made this clear to me.
No, actually, he didn't. I was told the price of the bike INCLUDING THE REBATES before I even mentioned that I would be financing. I was never given the offer to apply for the 3.9% financing rate in exchange for giving up the rebates. To me, deceiving customers is a rude and inappropriate way to run a business. I now have to wait until Tuesday for them to "build" my bike, even though Tyler phoned Toby (I assume he builds the bikes) on Thursday and was told that my bike could be built by the end of that day. Since I can't make it after work before closing time (6 pm), I now have to wait until Thursday to go pick it up.
I am extremely disappointed with my purchase and likely will not be back.
