LendingTree is a classic bait-and-switch scam. Their banner ad on the New York Times website promoted 2.75% for a 15 year mortgage. I was trying to refinance our home over 15 years. The loan-to-value would be less than 50%, we aren't taking any cash out and I have a FICO score over 800. If anybody can qualify for the 2.75% mortgage, it should be me. Instead, the best rate offered was 3.4%; not even close. LendingTree sells your information to a bunch of high pressure lenders. The non-stop calls and emails from the companies mean you can no longer answer your phone. Thank god for caller ID but when your phone lights up with the warning, "Suspected Scam or Spam," that's a good sign that these are people you don't want to do business with. Avoid LendingTree.
