2 stars because I finally got my nails done.
I didn't make an appointment because it wasn't honored (see 1st review), I walked in and was seen by the owner, a older woman.
I really dig the deco and it's at a convenient location for me so I really wanted this place to be "MY PLACE" but it's not working out so far.
Got a mani/pedi done in OPI and I didn't do dishes for 2 days, along with not doing my hair, not using any oils, not cooking, and taking short showers with my hands out of water as much as possible I'd figure this would be enough to avoid chipping for at least 3 days. I was wrong.
A little over 2 days later, like 52 hours later they PEELED OFF, not chipped but peeled like a sticker just rolling off my nail. I didn't pull it or hit it or anything, just tore as I'm sitting there. I wanted to go in right away but if that wasn't bad enough I got sick after visiting the salon. THEN at the end of the 3rd day my toes started chipping! What in the heck?! I can usually get a good 30 - 41 days out of ANY place I've ever been. A pedi lasting a month is normal for me. I truly don't get what went wrong.
The owner held my hands while coughing onto them/me. She didn't cover her mouth so it's not a stretch as to why I got sick. I had a sinus thing and migraine which I haven't had in months.
Weird thing is I put my own polish over one nail to test what was going on and it hasn't chipped. I didn't prep my nail or anything, just got the bottle (cold) and brushed it in a hurry.
All I want is a HOPEFULLY complimentary polish change even if it's only in the affected nails which is 8/10... to see if it will pass the 3 day test because normally I can get 4 - 7 days off a Wal-Mart mani and it won't peel, it chips little by little.
I'm going in today to see what they can do cause this is crazy. If this is what to expect everytime I'll keep looking for my new place. I stopped going to *my old place* which does excellent work because they lied to my face. I don't play that.
