I love going to salons, but when I'm only getting a trim it hardly seems worth it. Luckily, I found out about Aveda. I get my hair washed, trimmed and styled from an Aveda student for around $20! You do sign a waiver (because it is a student cutting your hair) but they consult with their instructors (who also observe when the students are working) so I don't have any anxiety. It's right on Stephen Ave and it usually doesn't take longer than an hour so I can quickly pop in over lunch and it doesn't disrupt my day. I've been a few times and have nothing but great praises for this place. You're helping a student practice and you get a salon experience for a fraction of the cost. It's a win-win situation!
