This is the WORST COMPANY EVER. They have successfully ruined renting for me forever. Let's start with move in, the house seemed okay when we did the walk through. Except for the fact that I had no where to live for a week because they were "fixing the AC" for DAYS. Pretty sure they weren't doing sh*t on the weekend. We get the keys and it's all fine until we open the dishwasher. Literally covered in what looked like flecks of dirt and just overall grossness. Okay, whatever, we aren't going to use the dishwasher. We buy a vacuum to get the carpets vacuumed and it was pure dirt. These carpets felt gross to walk on barefoot so that wasn't much of a surprise. And don't even get me started on the kitchen/living room tile, or the tile upstairs... The first time we mopped the mop water was BLACK, and for literal MONTHS afterwards we couldn't walk without shoes because our feet and socks would be stained black from the tile, even mopping every day didn't fix the issue. The tile upstairs can't be swept or mopped because the grout is chipping out and lifting the tile. Then we realized the fridge, which we had opened maybe twice and had come with the property, was leaking! And even though it is their duty to maintain their appliances, we were told another maintenance request would cost us. So when THEIR microwave went out, we didn't put in a maintenance request because we can't afford more fees on top of the WAYYYYY overpriced rent. We were without a microwave until one of our parents felt sorry enough to buy us one. The property also had a sh*t ton of scorpions. If that isn't bad enough, there was also wasp nests left and right. Customer service? Talk about horrible. It states in the lease that we can pay our utilities directly to the utilities company, yet when I asked about it I was told that it had to be paid through our rent portal and we had to pay the $9.95 fee. Also states in the lease that we can sublet with permission from the company. Then when I called to ask, I was told they have an absolutely no subletting allowed policy. So why put that it is allowed with permission? The wait time on the phone with customer care almost deserves a page in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest and most useless representatives ever. Once I called with a billing issue and they basically said "you're SOL!" and when I called again I was told that I could have been forwarded to their billing department and now I was really SOL because they closed at 4. Before this ends, let's look back on the aforementioned overpriced rent... House right next door to us, BEAUTIFUL, in amazing condition, and just overall way better than our house was almost $300 less rent than ours. These people are just a bunch of greedy ass people. Now, as we have FINALLY terminated our lease with this horrible company, they expect us to pay for professional cleaning of the carpets and when I asked for an invoice or proof of this professional cleaning of before we moved in and they told me no, which is suspicious to me. The moral of this story? DON'T RENT FROM PROGRESS RESIDENTIAL.
