Burkes is associated with Bealls of Florida, and I've been online shopping there for years.
I was curious to check out this place and found it OK. Went during grand opening week, and we had a good enough time perusing all the departments.
The store has a Marshalls/Factory 2 U vibe, with much less merchandise. The clothing was OK with some name brands mixed in with some not so much. I saw a few nicer dresses just like some I've seen at Marshalls or Ross. The home decor was uninspiring, but I did like the bargain priced selection of birthday type barware for around $5.
A wall sign advertised brand name shoes such as Clark's, and I found none in my size. They also have a beauty section that appeared to have some decent brands.
At checkout, I was offered a $10 off $40 coupon, a nice surprise. I also got $5 off my purchase for joining the loyalty club. Due to the location, I'll be stopping in regularly.
