We went over Father's Day weekend this year for our first time. Check in was fine but the map they gave us was only slightly useful. Since we had to drive to the other end of the resort ourselves, we could have had better directions. First, the drive that wraps around the complex has 3/4 of the entrances blocked off with large planters. And the buildings don't have numbers to identify them from the parking area. We had to drive all the way to the other end of the complex to enter the parking area then back track to the building where our room was. We still couldn't find it so my wife had to get out and walk around inside the complex to look for room numbers while I waited in the car with the kids. Again, there's nothing to identify them from the parking lots and the building circled on the map was the wrong building. She ended up asking someone from the housekeeping staff for directions. The room was fine and it was nice and cool inside. With 5 people in our party, the half roll of toilet paper ran out pretty quick and there were no replacement rolls. I went to call for more and the phone wasn't working. I had to call on my cell to ask for more. When an hour passed I had to call again. Then we received it. The room was great otherwise. The pull out sofa was perfect and provided lots of sleeping options for the kids. The tv in that same room was great for early risers to watch tv and not bother anyone else sleeping a little later. There's a door in between the rooms that keep the sound out. We went to the water park and had a great time. Good atmosphere as staff and guests were all very polite. Lots of mesquite trees provide shade throughout the area which is nice. But those same trees drop seed pods all over the walkways that do not feel good to step on with bare feet. Although we arrived later in the day, maybe 4:00. It looked like a couple of days worth of build up rather than that same days worth. There are drinks and snacks for sale of as you aren't allowed to bring your own in. The food is resort priced, Bottles of water $5, order of fries $8, burger & fries $18 etc. We went next door to Aunt Chiladas for dinner and it was amazing! Great atmosphere and delicious food. It's within walking distance from the resort but it looks like the hotel shuttles guests there in golf carts which is nice. Not sure how to set that up but we drove there to make it quicker. Parking was easy and there seemed to be plenty of it. If they can help with room directions and keep the rooms stocked with the necessities, I'd think about another trip there sometime.
