I've visited more than 5 times here. And I love, love, love LOVE this place.
In my opinion, this place is one of a kind. A place where I'm able to eat a full plate of grass jelly by myself and not feel 100% terrible I ate a whole dessert on my own. Actually I don't even like desserts. Yeah.
I've gotten a variety of desserts here - from the HK Cafe food, to the shaved ice, to the grass jelly shaved ice!
The reason for just 5 stars is because I absolutely love the desserts here, and I don't believe I can get it anywhere else! My favourite is the hot grass jelly bowls - large bowl of grass jelly with tapioca, beans, and taro balls - YUM.
I think it's unique and I haven't been able to find anywhere else that serves it the same way!
HOWEVER, I gotta admit that the service can be improved. It really varies, there are some days I'm totally ignored, but others where my water will always remained filled with a beaming smile.
Decor and ambiance is nice, a lot of wooden architect and modern feel to it.
I've made this place a regular to go to and I live near downtown Toronto. Definitely areas of improvement but still love this place.
