Overall not a bad airport. Very clean and new! Love the red sandstone posts that tell you you're in Arizona.
One thing to keep in mind, is that the terminals A to D (? As I can remember) all have separate security checkpoints. So MAKE SURE you're heading to the right gate otherwise you might miss your flight!
Th security checkpoint line was long and slow. After having more and more people at the back of the line and after 15 minutes have passed, they finally opened up a new machine to manage the crowd.
Also, I noticed both the gate number on my printed boarding pass from the kiosk AND the number from the flight billboard were both incorrect! I was thankful at least it's in the same terminal and I have a habit of always walking to the gate right after passing security before I wander around, getting food or using the bathroom. The correct gate number is only shown on my American Airlines phone app. How weird.
My flight to San Diego was delayed. The flight going to Minneapolis next to my gate was delayed and the time kept changing. Confusing.
One big plus is that they strictly enforced the no parking rule at the passenger pickup/drop off curb. Good job on that! LAX, please learn from PHX.
