Took my boat into ASC Custom Detail because a friend of mine recommended it. I saw his boat after they finished with the detail and it looked brand new. This was a 22ft deck boat and he paid $275 for a complete detail. They even removed all the lake scum off the hull since it sat for a year in the water.
I brought them my 19ft ski boat; much less work than my friends boat to clean. Joe quoted me $275. Same price that my friend had paid. I then explained to him that this boat was a lot less work and I inquired why the price would be the same. He said $275 was the minimum for boats.
I had paid $150 to have this boat done before so I thought that price was high and I told him that. I asked if he would do $250 if I paid cash and I left the boat with him. Mainly because I was in a hurry. I thought well if it comes out as good as my friends maybe the $250 would be worth it.
Well I picked it up today and have to say I was not impressed. They did not even vacuum the interior. Or clean the trailer wheels or put tire shine on the tires. All things that have been done before when I paid $150 at the car wash by my house.
I reluctantly paid the $250 in cash as we had agreed and I told Joe I was not happy with the quality and I would not be back. I was disappointed that he did not even try to make things right.
They may be good with other things but don't waste your time or money bringing a boat in for a detail. Overpriced and inferior work. Thumbs down in my opinion and experience.
