I love camping on the mountain and have been going up there for the last 15 years. We usually go up to Lee canyon and camp at Mcwilliams. This year with everyone's schedules we went up last minute and were lucky enough to get a site at Hilltop. Hilltop was great but no running water. Made it work and had a great time anyway. On our way back down I wanted to drive through Fletcher campground to see what the sites looked like for a future trip. We pulled up and asked the hosts who were sitting outside the trailer if we could just drive through and check out the campsites. The lady was obviously the boss because he looked to her for the answer and she told us no we couldn't drive through. I don't know if it was because she didn't want to get up and move the cone but I thought it to be very rude. I like to check out the sites to see which ones I would like to reserve for when I can plan a weekend. Looks like I will be sticking to Mcwilliams. The hosts are always very nice and accommodating up there. Mcwilliams has been renovated and has great sites with running water. I was also informed they have some sites that are open for the winter with heated restrooms. Mcwilliams here we come !!!
