Well, after living in Phoenix, AZ basically all of my life; I finally got to try this place. I honestly forgot about it for a bit, but then I saw the original Ted's featured on one of the food shows. There was a short line to begin with but didn't take long for them to get through the line. I placed my order (with the grill master) for a Jumbo Chili Cheese Dog, onion rings, and a med drink, which he called out. It appeared they had a system down; unfortunately, I was wrong. They forgot to put down my order of onion rings, or it went to someone else (don't know what happened there) and then they mixed up my drink cup size, with no drink cup...needless to say I had to wait another few minutes for them to cook an order of onion rings. Not a real big deal, other than my chili cheese dog was getting cold. Once the order was ready though, I took it and my tray of food to a table. The onion rings really didn't taste like they were fully cooked based on the batter consistency and it was all "clumped" together, which was a disappointment. I was really looking forward to them, they were the shoe string type of onion rings. The chili cheese dog was ok, I do like char-grilled hot dogs, but nothing that really stood out to me to say wow. But the buns they use are quality ones (I believe they are the potato buns). I wouldn't mind though going back, when I'm in the area and trying a regular jumbo dog with my choice of traditional fixings...and will go with the French fries next time.
