We missed our connection due to a weather event in our previous airport. No problem, these things happen. AA books us on a flight the next morning. A kind woman explains to me that they can get us our luggage, but it would be 2hr+. No problem, we can go without. Since we will be here overnight, they hand us a flier for a "discount" program for a hotel. The service AA contracts through puts you up in the dingiest motel in town! Full of drugs, filthy, and best of all- nonrefundable. And the price through their "discount service" is $20 higher than standard rates, with a $13 "service fee"! Shame on you AA for taking advantage of people who have missed a flight and are stuck far from home!
