We had the pleasure of spending a few days here - a welcome break from this winter's brutal weather in the Northeast.
The property is expansive - 29 acres - including everything -- golf courses (2), pools (8), meeting halls (3), restaurants (2 - one casual one fine dining) a deli and winding paths snaking their way among the residence options. Want a ground floor suite with a patio fire pit - they have it ready for you.
The resort offers homes, condos, hotel rooms, suites and bungalows. Any shape or size your heart desires. Just outside is a well kept walking/running/biking trail running along both sides of the canal that meanders through the city.
Wrigley Museum (yup, gum) is literally across the street. Shopping and the rest of Phoenix are a short Lyft or Uber ride away.
We were upgraded to a slightly larger room with a small balcony - courtesy of Hilton Honors as this is a Hilton property. Our room was spacious, clean and updated. The obligatory overpriced minibar included. The balcony was not private as it runs the length of the building and the view was cooling towers, parking lot and tennis, so check your location on the map at check-in!
We found the staff friendly and helpful, with knowledgable, and capable restaurant staff.
The manicured grounds kept in pristine condition, seating options abound. One of the big draws is the monstrous great lawn and patio, dotted with benches, tables, fire pits, rocking chairs, fountains, ponds, fruit trees..
Yes we had a great stay and enjoyed all of the above. Looks very child friendly too.
Why not 5 stars? Bird control seems a bit of an issue, especially at Frank & Alberts, the casual restaurant. The pools are overcrowded...expect chaise wars. The "spa" is priced at the high end of luxurious spas, but the locker rooms were second rate. Spa staff was in la-la land. Seating consists of 8 chaises outside in a "busy" courtyard, adjacent to the noisy pool (with live band).
In summary, a very nice family resort, and relaxing venue.
