We finally got the billing straightened out; unfortunately Hertz prefers to just send you to a collection agency as opposed to simply providing necessary information. All in all it took 8 months to resolve the problem. Had Hertz simply provided a detailed receipt (which they had to do for the collection agency), the discrepancy in billing would have been paid expeditiously AND they wouldn't have had to pay a collection agency. Needless to say, I used Hertz because I'm a AAA member. Big mistake! Won't be using them again. In fact, I took the same trip back in October of 2015, this time I used AVIS. Had a better vehicle and HALF the cost of what Hertz charged.
