Unfortunately Costco has taken to soliciting donations to charities at the checkout. This type of social pressure / duress style of solicitation is particularly onerous because it is designed to make you feel guilty for not donating on the spot while spending money on your own family. I prefer to make careful deliberation and research before deciding where to make charitable gifts of my hard-earned money. Pressuring people to make a gift on the spot to a charity they don't have time to research is a nasty practice. Its just like the South Park episode from a couple years ago!
