$160 for a 20 minute flying time intro lesson in a helicopter. Best eight hands of $20 blackjack I've ever had! Really had a great time.
I might not be the typical student. I had never even ever flown in a helicopter. But I do have 18,000 flight hours, mostly as an airline captain. I am scared of heights. Was nervous about helicopters. Really knew nothing, but had read a little and this book knowledge was made more theoretical by having a degree in physics. The instructor, a young lady named Jackie, handled it all with grace, understanding, and a strong focus on safety. She really was awesome.
We did a couple of patterns, explored the effects of the flight controls, and ended up practicing hovering. Gave me one control to play with. Then I tried anther, Then she gave me two at a time. Eventually, for a few wonderful seconds, collective cyclic and pedals. In the hover. Total blast!
Equipment was in excellent shape. Whole experience was as advertised. Highly recommend.
