Honestly I am a lifetime sports better. Football, Baseball, Basketball. I have always hated the early days of Las Vegas the way the Sportsbook catered to Horse Betters over sports. Well times have changed in Vegas as I knew they would. Now Horse betting has pretty much gone the way of the dinosaur. And Sports rule the roost up there. So when driving by Turf Paradise with my son I decided to check it out because he wanted to see the horses. This place was a blast from the past. Reminded me of the old days in Vegas before sports took over the book. And guess what. Horse betting and seeing these beasts in person is way way better than a cigar filled race book in vegas. You can tell the owner hasn't put much money into renovations. And that is good. Because you can still see what it was like back in the day before Indian Casinos took all of the Race Books business. Yes horse racing had it's day. And most likely it is never coming back to it's hayday. So you better hurry up and check out what it was like when Horse Racing was king and the only legal bet in town. And Turf Paradise is the time machine that will take you there. The only difference is there will be about only a 100 people there if you go on a weds like I did. Unlike the old days of Horse Racing when thousands were in the stands. I now understand why Horse Racing was king back in Vegas when visiting the book. Because it is hella fun to bet.
