After an afternoon shopping, my gf and I make dinner reservations at Olive & Ivy. Wanting to take advantage of the beautiful day, we waited for a table on the patio. The cobblestone, foliage and water feature made the patio that much more enjoyable as we sipped our cocktails in the sun and watched people bustling about at the courtyard across the way at a festival. When our kale salad, bruschetta and sea scallops arrived, I couldn't decide where to start! A light citrus dressing and slices of granny smith apples gave the salad a nice tartness. Of the trio of bruschetta, my fave was the sautéed mushrooms served with melted swiss - savoury deliciousness! Accompanying the sweet scallops were seared asparagus and polenta drizzled in a balsamic reduction. You can really notice the freshness and quality of the ingredients they use here. If you want to enjoy Olive but don't have the time to sit down, they have a marketplace inside the restaurant where you can pick up things like sandwiches and fresh pressed juices - something I'll keep in mind if I want a quick snack while shopping!
