I had surgery recently for carpal tunnel. I went to Fitzmaurice after seeing his many ads on TV and movie theaters. I was impressed because he did it without putting me under anesthesia rather just freezing the wrist area. For his part, it went fine and quickly; the nurses were very good doing most of the prep and lipo part (which was uncomfortable). It was optional and extra cost and I would probably not do it again. Recuperation was not too painful. The office staff is terrible. Never gets to return calls and front desk in surgical unit very unprofessional. A month after that "simple" surgery, I am in constant pain, have to go to hand therapy, need to put ice to reduce swelling and massage to break up thick scare tissue. Do not go there!
Now it is 7 weeks after surgery. I am in constant pain. My wrist is still swollen, lots of inflammation (says my hand therapist) and lots of scare tissue. I go to therapy 2x week without much results. My therapist called Fitzmaurice each time I saw him to order a hand brace and after 3 weeks no response from him or the office. I cannot squeeze or hold anything in my hand. I am so sorry I went to him.
