It was my friend's turn to pick a restaurant for us to eat at and initially I wasn't too excited when he told me he wanted to go to a Caribbean/American restaurant. However, I am happy to report that this place exceeded both of our expectations! I called ahead to make a reservation for a Saturday night, but the hostess on the phone told me they only took reservations for parties of 8 people or more so keep note of that. However she did tell me we would be able to walk right in and be seated (she was correct). The restaurant was bright and airy with white walls, tables, chairs with orange accents thrown in. It looked like they had two separate dining areas and a bar located towards the front. Our server was extremely nice and personable. When it came to ordering our food, my friend wanted to get the Jamaican curry chicken, however, our server informed us that there was a recall on all Jamaican curry so the dish wasn't available so keep that in mind.
We ordered:
-Jerk fried calamari ($14) - Absolutely delicious and generous portion size for an appetizer too! It had a sweet and hot flavor to it, I think since they used the Jerk seasoning in this dish the calamari came out a lot darker than a traditional calamari dish. Regardless it was tasty. Our server actually forgot to put this in with the rest of our order so it came out a little after our main entrees, but he gave us 15% off of this dish because of it.
-Jerk seared ahi tuna salad ($17) - Salad dressing was a refreshing and sweet citrus vinaigrette which went well with the seared ahi that had a nice spicy kick to it. No complaints at all with this dish.
-Chicken with roasted garlic & cream sauce over bowtie pasta ($18) - My friend ordered this and it had a very generous serving of bowtie pasta with evenly distributed veggies and chicken. I'm usually more of a fan of marinara sauce pastas, but the cream sauce they used with this was delicious.
I really liked the food and overall vibe of this place, I'll be back!
