The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign is a Las Vegas landmark funded in May 1959 and the sign was designed by Betty Willis cost $4000 to build and install.
There is free parking and being able to take a picture with the sign is free as well. I have been wanting to stop by there but in vain but finally one day I decided to go there with my parents as we were hanging out.
It was in the morning on a cold, we waited no more than 15 mins for our photo opportunity. There was a student photographer there who will take photos with your camera for a tip. There is no pressure from him but he can take a nice photo, he took 3 photos and they came out great. A quick easy stop here for a photo souvenir is a must! I suggest going at a non-peak time during your visit to Las Vegas!
