This is such a wonderful store. So clean and bright, and well organized display fridges, and terrifically friendly/helpful staff. It really stands out on Bayview. And I haven't even talked about the food yet!
This is far more than just a butcher shop. The ready-made meals are incredible, as are the soups and sauces. The deli meats are by far the best I've ever tried in the city. The aged steaks and fresh cuts are fantastic.
Cumbrae's goes to great lengths to source quality local meat, often organic, always outstanding. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. And the decor is super cool.
The prices are a tad higher than other shops in the neighbourhood, but they are not wildly expensive. Compared to Olliffe or Rowe Farms, I'd say the prices are fair.
The only thing that isn't great is the parking on Bayview is impossible, so if you can, make sure to walk!!!
