I have been coming to this location for several years with zero issues, however today I was met with an argumentative and disrespectful staff as I went to have my car inspected.
I was told by the first person I spoke to when I drove up that I would need to take my car to an AASE certified mechanic to have my brakes checked before they could inspect my car as they were squeaking (I use a harder brake compound than OEM so they always squeak).
I informed him that the rotors were new, the pads were new, the fluid had just been flushed so there was no need to have them 'looked at'. He then repeated the same line several times, basically ignoring what I had to say. Finally he said to put the registration on the dash indicating that they would move forward with the inspection. I did so and then went into the waiting area.
A few minutes later I noticed that three or four employees were gathered around my car with the rear hatch open and one of them had some tools in hand. I then went out to inquire as to what was going on. I was told that they had to take the engine cover off (this is a mid-engine vehicle) to visually inspect the motor. I thought that was very odd since I had brought the car in for inspection at this same location last year and no one mentioned anything about removing the engine cover.
Since I did not have anymore time to waste and I wasn't going to allow someone with no experience to start disassembling my car for what I felt was a BS reason, I chose to leave. No apologies. No sorry we couldn't help you. Later I checked with the dealership and they verified that the engine cover did not have to be removed for an NC inspection as I suspected.
At this point, I am gathering that they just didn't want to do the inspection in the first place. Very disappointing.
