  • Been going here for about 5 years now. Changing insurance here soon due to dropping off parent's insurance so I probably won't be coming back here again. With that being said let me prepare a detailed report for you of this Doctor's office... this is going to be a long detailed review. I've seen all of the Doctor's at the Gilbert office at least once and I will say a couple things about each one of them. My parent's insurance was very good so I will attempt to translate cost as best as I can. Front desk employees- There's a guy there most of the time who is very friendly/helpful and professional but there have been on other occasions employees who didn't display the same amount of professionalism or care. Check-in process- If you're new or haven't been there in the new year they always have you fill out or redo all of your medical history/insurance and just lots of waivers and reading/signing that seems rather redundant. Pretty much every visit to this Doctor's office has involved some kind of paperwork of some sort. I've had hit and miss appointments at this location in terms of wait times, what I have noticed is that if you schedule your appointment really early in the morning you have a pretty good shot of getting in on time but if you schedule later in the day you could face up to a 45 minute wait which seems weird to me because they haven't stopped doing this since I started going here. They don't do a very good job of time management for patients who are waiting. The waiting area- Some meh chairs, a TV on one wall, a drinking fountain and just your typical boring waiting area. Getting into a room- Once past the check-in process they'll put you in a room and do basic vital checks and write some stuff down. Then after that you generally have to wait some more time and in my experience it's usually 5-10 minutes although just recently it was up to 20 minutes. Doctor face time- They always do their own little check of you, check your vitals and then proceed to quickly discuss whatever issue you're having and here's where I knock some stars off... for how long you wait it always just feels so rushed when they finally get to talk with you, like they have better things to do than discuss with their patients health-related issues and that bothers me. I also feel like they over-generalize symptoms and perhaps over-prescribe medication/other medicine-labs that probably weren't needed just so they can get you out of their office ASAP. Doctor's advice- Summed up as -"here take these drugs and you'll be good" - I'm a pretty overweight individual and every Doctor in this office has tried to get me to take some kind of drug for my weight. A couple of them suggested exercise which is much more understandable and I can agree with. When I was smoking cigarettes years ago the Doctor's here would always pitch me some kind of drug like Chantix to help me quit... I'm just not a fan of the here take these drugs and you'll be fine ideology for most things (I ended up quitting using the patch). Doctor's prescriptions- From what I have noticed over the years the Doctor's here prescribe name brand very expensive drugs, sometimes it feels like some of these drugs were unneeded. When viewing the prices at the pharmacy for said drugs I am completely amazed at how expensive everything is and the fact that the Doctor's don't know the prices of the things they're prescribing. I've been referred to other Doctor's offices in the past and none of the Doctor's here could give me a rough idea of what things would cost when I asked directly about price. From personal experience, all of their options have been very expensive (that could be all healthcare though) and most things they have tried to get me to do would be expensive long-run options. The three male Doctor's at this office: Benton/Reeder and Wallace all have payments from drug companies averaging around $3600 each per year for direct payments to them (could argue unethical) - Source: Dollars for Docs/ProPublica.org Continued- The office doesn't have a lot of high tech gear at the location which is why I think they point patients to other places. This is actually kind of interesting, I was prescribed a Chest X-Ray last week from Dr. Withee to go to Simon Med Imaging (I didn't go) and then just yesterday I was prescribed by Dr. Reeder to go to Arizona Advanced Imaging for a Chest X-Ray (I went- came back as normal). Doesn't seem to be much consistency in the choices of places they'll tell you to go, Doctor's preference I guess, though both of these Doc's did not know the price of the Chest X-Ray when asked. Doc notes (All knowledgeable): Benton: Old-school, detailed, seems rushed, in-depth but perhaps over generalizes treatment options. Reeder: Detailed, goes quick, professional demeanor but perhaps some insensitive comments. Wallace: Good treatment options, rushed but concentrated. Withee: Fast paced, prescribes a lot, seems to recommend new health tech/modern.
