| - I'm knocking this down a few stars because of my most recent two experiences. The repair experiences were legitimate in that the problems were fixed, however, the prices seem to be MUCH higher than other places on the area.
I found it odd to pay $2400 for different services a few months ago, but wasn't exactly given a clear explanation of exactly what the breakdown of the cost was, and wasn't even given a line item receipt with my payment. Granted, I didn't ask, so that may be my fault. If you're going to put down any sort of large amount of money, do not make the same mistake I did, be sure to get a line-item, itemized bill for the total cost, including the repair charges, labor charges, part charges, etc., because they're overcharging. If they don't provide one, take your vehicle to another shop in the area. I'm still not exactly sure a half day's work of routine maintenance cost $2400 - the only thing I can guess is they had every mechanic in the shop working on my vehicle at the same time.
They promise a free tow, but you'll have to buy a certain higher-priced 'diagnostic package' that would cost higher than a tow would cost. I had my vehicle towed to Auto Repair Technology with two flat tires after driving through an Ohio City pothole and asked for new tires. Why would I need a diagnostic fee for that? They also mention "tires at cost" as a selling point, but they aren't at cost. They are about 15% higher. I won't mention any specific names, but I called two places nearby, one directly across the street, and the price for the same exact brand/model of tire was lower, with both shops charging the same for installation. This shop is also a bit unorganized at times. I was told my vehicle was done, came to pick it up, only to arrive to find it wasn't finished. It also wasn't uncommon to get a phone call the night before an appointment and be notified a loaner car wasn't available the next day after being told one would available previously. To be fair, most repair facilities in the area don't offer any type of loaner vehicle.
I would still recommend the oil change / frequent customer card if you can verify the work is being performed. It's probably the best deal for an oil change in the area.
There's a lot of untraditional "add-ons" for this business that probably are cause for their higher-than-average repair prices. If you live in the area, you'll get a massive amount of junk mail for this small shop, including additional advertising phone calls and texts if you would like those type of communications.
