| - The pool area at The Mirage features a large rock formation with a beautiful gushing waterfall. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance created by the sound of water splashing into the pool! The large deck wraps around both the pool & waterfall, with a plethora of chaise lounges, enhanced by lush tropical landscaping. Before I'd even gotten myself situated on my chosen chaise, a friendly waitress greeted me & asked if needed a drink. Of course I did! At $24, my cranberry & vodka wasn't cheap, but it WAS a triple, and came in a semi-reusable plastic souvenir cup. So it was almost a deal for Vegas. Not surprisingly, I also ordered a second. My efficient waitress was also chatty (but not too much!) and shared that her parents also live in Tampa. Not that the Mirage can plan it, but weather was ideal on this uncrowded autumn weekday: sunny 75°F with a light breeze. So my 3 hours of sunbathing on my last morning in Vegas were perfect with great sun, good tunes, and strong drinks. (Yes Mom, I used sunscreen twice & wore my hat with SPF).
