  • So this was my first time staying at the Elara Hotel. I would definitely recommend it as a good off the strip choice. Pros Very Clean The entrance is simple yet beautifully maintained, always clean and smells nice, which was a pleasant surprise. When visiting Las Vegas I am used to being assaulted by smoke and for lack of better words dirty casino smell. This hotels entrance is completely separate from the attached Planet Hollywood Casino. I really felt like I was stepping into luxury when I entered. Upon check in, the staff was very friendly and willing to help. The room was very clean. I loved the retractable blackout curtains in each room, which made for a great nights sleep. Conveniences This hotel is in a great spot. It is attached to the Miracle Mile shops with many places to eat and drink without getting a cab or walking too far. Cons No free Wifi They do not offer complimentary wifi in your suite. Come on, if I'm paying THIS much to stay in your hotel you can't at least offer free wifi?? Blanket limit On our first night we called down once for extra blankets they brought up two blankets. When we called once more for another pillow and blanket, they told us we were maxed out on blankets and could only send a pillow....it's not like we had asked for 10 blankets or anything. They allow up to 4 people in a room they can't allow 1 blanket per person? Again at a luxury hotel I would not expect them to place trivial limits like this. Needless to say we made do with the blankets we were given. Elevator security So I don't know that I would necessarily call this a con, mostly an inconvenience. You have to give your key to a doorman at the entrance to the elevators before going up to your floor. I understand the security measure, but it is inconvenient when you run down to the car and forget your key and have to go to the front desk and get another OR have someone come down from the room to get you. All in all this is a really nice hotel. And a solid choice for a quiet weekend.
