  • The Sunny Plumber, more like The Shady Plumber. I called to get a quote on a garbage disposal replacement. I was told The Sunny Plumber doesn't do estimates, you must pay a $50.00 fee and have a plumber come out and give you an estimate. I really didn't think twice as a 1/3 horse power garbage disposal costs $75.00. With a 20 to 30 minute labor fee at a typical plumber rate of $50.00 per hour, brings my estimate to be $100.00. I was willing to pay twice that as I injured my hand and was unable to remove the old one. Bottom line quote for the exact $75.00 Badger 1/3 horsepower garbage disposal and installation came to a ridiculous $440.00. I believe all companies should have a starting price(i.e. garbage disposal installations start at $440.00) to inform the public whether or not they can afford their services and not using a mandatory service fee and extortion tactics. Out $50.00 hard earned dollars.
