Detailed review:
The thing I noticed upon entering was the weird smell in the room. It smelled kind of like mildew and pot. I just left the door open to air the room out, but the smell ended up persisting for the whole stay. I also noticed that there was a huge wet spot on the carpet. I stepped in it and got my socks wet. It just seemed to be water so I let it go. I just thought the maid spilled water on the carpet. Little did I know, that nasty wet spot on the carpet would actually end up spreading and growing bigger throughout my stay. It seemed to be leakage from the air conditioning, so I think that was the source of the mildew smell.
My room was also not cleaned well. This is absolutely unacceptable because I checked in later in the day, so their housekeeping had plenty of time to do a thorough job of cleaning up from the previous guest. The bathroom was sloppily cleaned. The sink vanity area had water spots all over the place and there were water spots all over the mirror. I do a much better job cleaning at home. The corners of the bathroom had piles of hair and dust from the previous occupants.
The lack of attention to cleaning really showed in the shower. First of all, the handle to turn the water on in the shower was so loose that I could've easily pulled it off completely. This is something the maid should've noticed if they'd paid any attention while cleaning, which they clearly did not. Who would expect a new hotel to have some shoddy maintenance that their fixtures are already falling off? It turns out that this lack of attention to detail is DANGEROUS because my travel companion got a cut on their foot from a small glass shard that was in the shower. Not a good start to a trip in Vegas where you have to do a lot of walking.
While I'm on the subject of the shower, you get a peekaboo style shower in your room. What this means is that if you don't close the blinds, everyone in the room gets to see you shower. The blinds roll down from the INSIDE of the room, not from within the shower. So if you piss off one of your travel companions, or they're big pranksters, that means they can roll up the blinds while you're showering...in which case I hope you've got a very fit body, waxed beforehand, and have an exhibitionist nature, or a swimsuit, because they'll see everything and you can't do a thing about it unless you step out of the shower to close the blinds. This feature sounds pretty sexy if you're traveling with your partner for a romantic weekend, but it's not ideal if you're traveling with family or friends. Even with the blinds rolled down, they'll see your silhouette anyways so you might as well put on a good show and shower seductively. Lol. I suggest you watch some Cinemax at night for ideas for posing. Ever think about how sexy you can look while washing shampoo out of your hair? Well you can test that out here.
The resort fee is high and it covers wifi usage for your stay. I won't complain about high resort fees because that's pretty much standard I'm Vegas hotels now. What I will complain about however, is the unreliable internet connection. I had to wait a long time for pages to load and it cut in and out a lot. You can pay an extra fee for premium internet if you want.
As far as the bedroom area is concerned, I was not impressed. It's got a lot of flashy design but it's nothing special as far as Vegas hotel rooms go. There are mirrors all over the place and artwork of female and male legs over the headboard of the beds. It's supposed to be sexy but it just reminded me of crime scene photos. The agenda of this hotel is pretty clear. If you look in the minibar area, you can buy a kit with condoms, lube, and mints from the minibar.
On an elevator ride back up to my room one night, my elevator companions were two prostitutes accompanied by two clients. They were negotiating payment in the elevator. One John was so flustered that he forgot to get off the elevator with his lady. The door closed and she'd stepped out while he was stuck for another few floors. Talk about embarrassing. Lol.
Fun fact: while prostitution is actually legal in Nevada, it's actually illegal in Clark County, which Las Vegas is a part of. It's one of those things that I think some hotels, such as this one, look the other way on. Do with that info as you wish.
The overall impression I got was kind of trashy. Another thing that I saw in the hotel was a girl that was so drunk that she stumbled around, fell to the floor, and had to be escorted out by security in a wheelchair. Ever been so drunk that you need a wheelchair? It's like spring break up in here.
For the price that I paid, I expected much more from this hotel. When I expressed my concerns to their "guest services specialist", I got no response. Very disappointing.
