  • Not sure why Banfield doesn't have more reviews. Thought I'd contribute my 2 cents. This is based only on one review thus far and I will update it based on future visits. First, this Banfield Hospital is a pet clinic that is attached to the PetsMart on the west side of Madison. The hours of operation here are convenient, being open until 7 pm. The facilities are clean. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly front desk staff. The doc and assistant were on time, not too much of a wait to actually get into the exam room. The doctor was great in listening to what we had to say about our dog and was thorough in making sure our dogs yearly maintenance was up to date, while checking up on any potential concerns of our's. Based on my own medical knowledge (which is not that of dog health in all fairness), I worry that some of the advice we received was a little extreme but can appreciate it given the end goal is to keep our dog healthy and free of dangerous disease. Overall a real good experience. One thing that I believe requires special emphasis is the option of pet wellness plans. These are plans that include regular yearly maintenance that an owner should do for their pet as a minimum. The payments are broken down into monthly installments. The overall value is great as it includes regular checkups, office visits for focused issues, vaccines, teeth cleaning including labs and cost of standard anesthesia, discount on potential work ups, and some laboratory testing. Really just for the vaccines and the dental work this pays for it self.
