| - cutting to the chase: this place would get a higher score if they did not have an insect problem (ie; aphids, fruit flies, whatever else is buzzing about).
stopped in for our first meal on this trip to vegas, as we were staying at the aria. came across this place while looking for a simple lunch spot. pizza should do it. two cokes and a pizza. easy enough. sports bar atmosphere with above average volume level (however the chosen 90's music mix was a decent one). our table was freakishly and annoyingly wobbly, but whatever, not a deal-breaker. the mushroom pizza was tasty, and seemed to do the trick...
oh look, something floating in my drink! oh wait, it's not floating, it appears to be swimming. oh dear...
our waitress was young and super sweet, i honestly feel she meant well, however clearly still learning the way of her industry, as she was not the smoothest in handling this situation.. situation being: a tiny green insect swimming around in a customer's beverage. rather than apologize for this disturbing and perhaps anomaly of a circumstance, it became somewhat of a confessional, in which we were informed that she hears insect complaints on the daily and the restaurant is constantly having to spray.. and it's a huge problem. apparently the bugs are coming in via the fruits and other produce.
had the waitress just apologized, replaced my drink, and perhaps docked 30% off the bill, this review would not be written. instead i was given TMI, left somewhat mortified, hoped the insect problem was local to that restaurant only.. (!).. and feel if this establishment truly has an insect problem, other unsuspecting lunch-seekers should be given a heads up.
i know that "things happen," but what a way to kick off our holiday.
