I've been living in the Danforth for a couple years now and everytime I walk by Sweet Tooth I have to give it a good long stare through the window. All the treats in there look so damn cute and sweet!
Everything about the atmosphere of the place--the decor, layout of goods, selection--is appealing to the sweet tooth's eye. However, that is probably the only good thing about Sweet Tooth. The downfall I think is that it is pricey in comparison to the taste. I've had the Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake and the Flourless Chocolate Torte with berries. Both were pretty good, but I cringed at the price of both of them. I definitely could find something equally or even better at a bakery in leslieville, beaches or Kensington market.
It's hard to justify a cupcake that is over $3.00, especially when it's not even baked in-house (most/all of the good are made in a "warehouse" bakery and shipped in daily/weekly--according to my source).
I will probably not be dropping by Sweet Tooth again this summer or even for a while because my wallet can't handle the prices. I will however, always take a nice long look through the window!
