| - If you are thinking about joining this gym, don't do it.
Too crowded during after work hours in the week days, it's pretty small. To the point that you are literally climbing over people to get to equipment (not an exaggeration). I literally hit someone in the back with the end of the bar on the bench press because of the set up. I'm sure he was scratched up pretty good, it looked painful.
Also, when certain equipment is out of order, I've seen it go a whole month or longer before the equipment was fixed.
What is idiotic too is that the ground floor where the locker rooms are located doesn't have a water fountain. So they want people to dehydrate themselves in their sauna, but then not give them the means to drink water. You have to climb back upstairs to the main work out room to get water. Who planned the layout of this joint?
Also parking can be atrocious, especially if there is an event going on DT (when you have to schedule your gym time around the Diamondback games, there is an issue there).
They sold me with the idea that they were $28 a month compared to the $35 I was paying at LA Fitness. Sure that the case, but they also basically charge you for 13 months based on their bi-weekly payments. Also, they want to charge you a yearly $39 membership fee, and then they have the audacity to charge $15 to cancel. So the $84 yearly savings is basically non-existent.
When I joined, one of the sales points made to me by George was that it's easy to cancel my membership. He compared it to the cancellation policy of LA Fitness, which is the gym I left to join. He claimed that I can come right into the gym and cancel anytime.
So, my 1 year anniversary was coming up, and I wanted to cancel. So, I thought I would try to cancel on their website. The website l literally tells me that I have to go into the gym to do so. So I do, then they girl at the counter tells me that I have to call this ABC financial in order to cancel. I proceed to do that and have to sit on the phone with a moron for 15 minutes to do so.
This RUNAROUND is not what I signed up for.
So, how that is easier than cancelling at LA Fitness is beyond me. On top of it all they require basically a 30 day notice. What a joke!
