| - I gave this resort 4 stars in August of this year; my subsequent stay was exceptional and the Montelucia deserves all of the five stars I now give it.
Property: absolutely gorgeous grounds, views, architecture, and public spaces.
Mbar: fantastic bartenders, great recommendations for food/wine pairing from the tapas menu; willing to serve from the dinner menu; live entertainment Friday/Saturday.
Prado: superb food with an excellent wine list; food and wine seem pricey at first glance; however this is a Paradise Valley resort so.........; knowledgeable, anticipatory, and professional wait staff. Great with food and wine pairing suggestions. One of the managers - Tom or Sarah - always seems to be around; on a recent evening Mbar was so busy I saw Sara behind the bar washing and polishing glasses.
Oasis Pool (adult): Comfortable chairs, plentiful towels, ice and water service; excellent food and beverage menu (again pricey), I was able to negotiate a mutually acceptable price for a 5 day cabana rental, in contrast to my earlier visit, and cabana service was excellent.
Staff: During my return visit all staff here performed superbly. From the initial contact with valet parking and the bell staff, to the front desk, guest services, and excellent concierge staff, housekeeping, Mbar, Prado, and Oasis - everyone is on the same page; focused on being certain you are having an enjoyable time; clearly an absolute strength for this resort. The concierge - Scott, and Anna - the "loyalty ambassador", respond to every request with a "no problem" attitude.
I will be returning to Montelucia for several "staycations" in the next few months. In the interim, I make it a fairly regular stop for cocktails and/or lunch, and an occasional date night. The Mbar and Prado staff continue to provide excellent, anticipatory, service. Added benefit - the eye candy at Mbar and Prado, both customers and staff, continues to impress. :)
