I've always been very happy with this place. Me and my girlfriend go almost weekly and sit at the bar. She gets sushi and I have never heard her complain, she's also been going there for years (before we even started dating). I have to be in a certain mood for sushi and I usually just order something off the regular menu. I tend to enjoy their noodles and I recently had the bad Thai with chicken and it was spot on. Very good and a generous portion (good for lunch the next day). This is a little more than your Americanized Chinese takeout I feel it has a fresh aspect and quality ingredients. It's slow paced and you're never in a rush which we love. I'm convinced some of the mixed reviews are from people who think your typical grease ball Chinese food is good.
