| - Okay -- BAD stuff first. 1) my nail tech was on her phone half the appointment, didn't introduce herself. She just pointed to where I should sit, and started the process of taking off my existing polish. Then she asked me what color I wanted, and I felt frazzled because (A) it's hard to flip through and explain options you're debating between when your own fingers are soaking in acetone, and (B) she's chatting with someone on her cell phone. 2) she didn't soak my hands at all. 3) She didn't clean up the cuticles, she essentially used the electric file to clean them up which I hate -- but I couldn't really tell her this because from the get-go, I just wanted to get out of there. 4) She had two fans blowing directly on me, which I couldn't tell her otherwise since she was chatting away on the phone -- and I was freezing the entire appt as a result. 5) No hand massage/moisturize included. 6) I was very confused when she had me stick my hands under the UV lights -- I have started to choose SNS in order to AVOID the UV light. OH -- almost forgot: I was guided to the incorrect color choices (NOT the SNS palettes), and NOBODY took any time to explain different mani options to me.
GOOD stuff. 1) Front desk was great when I called and asked if I could walk in. 2) Walked in and got assigned to a nail tech quickly. Clearly the boss lady was friendly and helped a momma handle her twin toddlers... but they also may have been friends -- so, who knows. But still, it's cool that you let the momma breathe and enjoy a few minutes of R&R, so thumbs up for that.
But I dunno. The service was mediocre if not below average. I've been to other salons where the techs act a little more professional, and take their jobs more seriously, clearly more passionate about what they do. Strike up conversation. Just CARE about you / do a good job pretending. I'm disappointed because it looks like from reviews, some of them are great at designs and art, so I was REALLY hoping my experience would improve by the end of the visit, but that just wasn't the case. Probably won't make my way back there unless I'm desperate and have nowhere else in the valley to go due to some unfortunate/odd/bizarre circumstance. Sorry, folks, I really really wanted to love your place... but looking back a few days later, it really was just a "meh" experience. You've got the potential, though. For now, I'm better off paying a few bucks more to feel like a queen when I walk outta a nail salon.
